DCI Classification & Emergency Treatment

Decompression Illness is a gas bubble disease that occurs in association with compressed gas diving.

Because the manifestations can range from subtle to life-threatening with varying onset-times and rates of progression, a clinical classification system is presented with video illustrations for its application.

The presentation also covers the essential emergency treatment measures for suspected gas-bubbled disease - otherwise called decompression illness.

The first Video Player covers the Classification of DCI. The second video player covers the First Aid & Emergency Management of DCI.
