Ear & Sinus Problems

Ear & Sinus problems are not only the most common medical issues in diving, but also most likley to prevent entry-level divers from taking up the sport or certified divers from diving from time to time.

This first presentation covers the most salient issues related to ears sinuses and diving. It addresses basic anatomy and physiology as well as various equalising techniques and special examinations, such as tympanometry and videonystagmography. It is possibly the most relevant lecture in diving medicine as a whole.

The second presentation is an extract of the first lecture but focusing on the Ear Equalization Techniques.
