Fitness for Recreational Scuba Diving
Most physicians are not trained to assess individuals for entry into recreational SCUBA diving. Although the principles of medical fitness are generic in many respects, SCUBA diving involves a number of physical, psychological and social factors that influence the safety and enjoyment of the sport to a large extent.
This presentation is a primer, an overview on the considerations when evaluating a potential diver for recreational scuba diving. Additional information and training is recommended and is usually required by law for the assessment of all diving professionals.
