Hazardous Marine Life Injury

 

Although contributing only 2% of the morbidity and less than 0.01% of the mortality of diving, hazardous marine life injuries (HMLI) are relatively common. Most physicians are not trained specifically in identifying or treating HMLI. Therefore, this presentation is an essential overview of the range of injuries that may arrive in need of treatment, and the principles that should be employed when providing medical assistance.
